Wheeeeee!

What honeysuckle
Leaves upon a
Paling row grows
Slowly on us
From fence into
Memory, retrieves
Something inside--
A county fair,
A carnival ride.

  1. So delightful. I felt it, in my tummy and in the smile brought to my face. You flickered a memory alight.

  3. I good reach back. I thought about it twice, and remember my father saying, as a rather innocuous carnival ride ended, "I must get off, now!"

  4. "Paling row" ... lovely.

As a child, I seldom went on anything more exciting than a merry-go-round, but it still felt like whee!

    1. It's sound, lights, calliope music that combine in "Whee!" and a thrilled child.
