Sow bugs found
In fallen wood,
Touched in curiosity,
Curl around into pills --a
Skill in sow bugs everywhere
That humans sadly lack.
We can't get under
Our own backs and hide there,
Or disappear inside
An armored sphere.
We watch them from above,
Do nothing, which is
Awfully close to love.
.
That skills would come in handy at times :)

I've always thought so.
DeleteI believe you're right again, Geo. Doing nothing in the face of antagonizing events IS a form of love for your fellow creatures. Who'd have thought that sow bugs were so advanced?
ReplyDeleteI've always suspected sow bugs got perfected pretty early on and, as detritivores, always knew their purpose as stewards of Earth.
DeleteHe is a pretty one. My children and grandchildren love finding what they call "roly-polys".
ReplyDeleteHe is pretty, isn't he? I find sow bugs and roly-polys are closely related land-crustaceans.
DeleteWonderful advice. "do nothing..." That is respect.
ReplyDeleteTom, when it comes to sowbugs --they don't bite, don't carry disease, eat only decaying plant parts-- respect is inescapable. They are amazingly respectable.
DeleteIndeed do nothing. Live and let live.
ReplyDeleteA most enlightened plan. Brava!
