Seeking Time

Our spirits rest in
Trees, seeking time
Between heat, cold,
New, old --as autumn
Nears its end and
Earth, still our friend,
In cooler repose, hangs
Raindrops on a rose.

  2. The opposite down here in Australia where we are all preparing for the heat of summer. We live in two different worlds even though we inhabit the same one.

  4. The raindrops just waiting to fall make an amazing image. As do your words.

Our fall is far behind us. Heavy wet snow yesterday bowed trees and power lines. I'd have preferred rain :)

    1. So far our snow has behaved and remained in the mountains. I think there might be a law.

    1. Thanks, Joanne. So far the cold has been mild here but, strangely I feel it more keenly each year.

  6. Our spirits, regardless of weather and season, are constantly seeking time, more time. You put that fact very nicely in a tiny gem-poem.
