New Arrival

Small lizard-skin
Case containing
Glasses snaps shut.
She moves in the
Wake of others
Up little roads
Clustered around
A station, where
Blue-eyed Rosemary
Begins an end
To winter in
A new nation.
"Ah! I'm cold,"
She says, and
Spring unfolds.

  1. Lovely! Like a haiku but with more words: it has that same three part Aha! quality and format. BTW, my Rosemary is doing just that now, too, in my tiny circular garden!

  2. Thanks Will. Lately I find plants waking up suggesting scenes, patterns from memory and imagination. Guess I wake up a little more too! I've seen your garden around the tree and have always liked it.
