I love the way you've described the tree. I'm always so sad to see them go. You've made it so it's almost not sad to think about anymore.

All created things must face this inevitability. Have you read "The Giving Tree" by Shel Silverstein?
Hopefully the poor sad dead tree will cheer up when it realises it is keeping you warm during the winter.
