Historians

Spots, stripes,
Astragals tell us.
Wings, antennae
Tell us.
Each compound eye--
Each butterfly
A four-page history
Of butterflies--
Tells us.
Do we understand?

We don't have to understand what brings us happiness.

  2. Arleen-- In the 10 years I've tinkered with this poem, I've never been able to answer its question. You've done so elegantly.

  3. Hi Geo.,

I love reading your poetry, even if sometimes I have to reread it a few times!

And I still may not understand...

The picture goes nicely. Norma is very talented.

  4. Michelle-- Thanks! I don't understand poems all at once either, even my own.

  5. I think the beauty is going along with the vision poetry conjures up in one's mind. Reads different to us all......
