Hall Stand

Who is this--
Central mirror,
Hooks for hats,
Coats, drawer
For gloves,
An umbrella well
And, under all,
A rack for boots
And shoes?
A thing I use.
Who, who is this?
Who am I?
Hooks on either
Side, I decide
And change
Clothes with it,
My alter-ego.
Now I am a gardener.
Was I a clothes tree
A moment ago?

  1. Heehee! Before I read your poem and had only the title before me I was thinking of asking for an accompanying photo as some of your pieces have. Now I'm glad it doesn't have one, for it resides in an ethereal yet palpable realm beyond the merely photographic....and I see was posted at a bewitching hour.
