Darwin Dangling: Universal Pool Experience

Between fiery air
And fountain edge
We dangle our feet
From a pool ledge,
Where air and heat
Divide --a margin
We decide is right,
Our eyes in the
Business of light
And our toes in
The promise of flight.

    1. Dear Arleen, thanks. Photos and poems need to feel lovely sometimes, I suspect because they're alive --us too!

    1. Joanne, when I watch these tiny frogs leap to take airborne insects --they seem partial to common houseflies-- it's as if they do have the power of flight.

  3. "Darwin Dangling" is just such a lovely phrase! Norma has another winning photo, and you have lived up to its promise, Geo. Little guy is awfully cute.

    1. O_Jenny, Norma and I are so glad these 1/4 to 1/2 inch critters came to live at our house. They have no fear of us and like to ride our hands and shoulders. So friendly, and yet they diligently keep the insect population down.

    1. Thank you, dear Cat. All best birthday wishes to your son. Daughter turned 34 earlier this year. They are part of a generation in which I have measureless faith.

    1. Dear Lon, thanks. Darwin and his kind are still hopping and full of croaks here, but the weather is cooling and they'll soon hibernate.
