On Dogs And Humans

Night, miles, motors,
Machines, dogs smile
And trot unseen.

We can't help but travel,
Slip from gate to
Gravel, levers, rotor,
Chains, cars, a wheezing bus.

Machines change us,
Train us.
Dogs dream.
We dream

Between fever and cogs.
Shadows pant in the park--
Gargoyle grins.

We know our way in the
Dark --we are human, yes,
But what then?
What then?
